Beginning with the Fellowship of the Ring Base 365-card set, Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game was distributed in booster packs and starter decks alike. All 365 of the base set cards, along with most of the sets that game after, have a full parallel foil set to collect as well, pleasing both jealous players and shiny card collectors! Enjoy some great allies and heroes such as Arwen, Aragorn, Bilbo Baggins and Boromir. Choose which company you want to create and follow it through with supporting events, locations, abilities and problems. With such a huge array of cards to select from, this is one of the most customizable and fun collectible card games ever created. Choose from literally thousands of characters, events, weapons and items to make your way through middle earth! Each set in this game was divided into a “block” of three sets, which focus around different types of events. Kicking off Block 2 is another epic set The Two Towers - get access to new heroes and villains like the Desert Lord, Frodo, Frodo’s Cloak, Eowyn, Faramir, and of course, the mighty Saruman! As the game progressed, more sets released, and a special Reflections Set was produced. This set included foil versions of some of the great cards from the beginning of the game, as well as a brand new, special high powered subset of cards to add as well! When the Shadows block hit, the game changed a little, no longer were foil versions produced for every card, but a special subset in each release was included with only the best and most powerful cards receiving foil versions! Expanded Middle Earth saw the introduction of little known characters from the books and movies, making game play even more exciting. The final block, which included the three rarest sets in the game - Hunters, Rise of Saruman and Treachery and Deceit saw some amazing new cards, a great new foil sub-set and powerful new allies. These sets were very quickly produced and did not see the same distribution as earlier sets, though, making these cards extremely rare and unfortunately expensive for collectors! The game ended with a special all-foil set called Ages End which ended the game and wrapped up the epic adventures in middle earth.
